Real Madrid have just enjoyed another successful season. Thanks to Butragueno and Hugo Sanchez, the Merengues have finished the campaign with 107 goals scored, more than sufficient to land them a fifth straight La Liga crown.
Johan Cruyff’s Barcelona, with new purchases Ronald Koeman and Michael Laudrup, disappointingly finished third. Perhaps this Copa del Rey final could add some semblance of glory to the season. Or would Madrid prove insatiable in their lust for silverware?
